SARA

SANTIAGO

Our Story

It all began 9 years ago in Karlsruhe, where fate brought us together during Sara's Erasmus exchange while Santi was studying abroad in Germany. Santi is from Ecuador, and Sara is from France, with a touch of Spanish roots on her mother’s side. It’s funny how life works—Santi found his soulmate on another continent, and Sara discovered hers in another country.

Despite our academic and professional paths separating us, our love only grew stronger. After 3 years of long-distance relationship, we finally moved in together in Zürich, where Sara was living at that time.

Then, on a snowy December day at the base of Mount Pilatus, Santi got down on one knee and asked the big question.

Now, after 9 incredible years, we’re excited to celebrate the next chapter of our lives with a “yes” in beautiful Lancieux, Brittany.

We can’t wait to share this special moment with you!

Wedding Day

Our wedding day will begin with a heartfelt ceremony, where Sara and Santi will share their vows in a personal setting. Afterwards, we’ll keep the celebration going with a cocktail—a perfect chance to raise a glass and mingle with friends and family.

As the evening unfolds, we’ll gather for dinner to enjoy French cuisine and fuel up for what’s next: a cheerful Ecuadorian wedding party! This is a celebration for everyone, young and old, to hit the dance floor, let loose, and enjoy the rhythm. Bring your energy and let’s make it a night to celebrate!

Accommodation and Travel

Accomodation

We are really happy that you are joining us in Brittany for our wedding weekend. While you may only be able to stay for a few days, we highly recommend taking some extra time to explore and enjoy the beauty of this region in France. It truly has the potential to make you fall in love with it. Just like Sara’s family, whose grandparents decided to spend their retirement in this beautiful region, or her parents, who bought a second home here, and Sara, who discovered her love for the sea and water sports in Lancieux, and even Santiago, who always enjoys the rugged landscapes and amazing seafood—this region truly has something for everyone. It’s a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the simple things in life.

For your accommodation, we recommend the following places/websites to check out:

Hotels

If you would like to enjoy the services of a hotel, we recommend checking the following options near the wedding manor:

Other options

If you prefer to stay in a bed and breakfast or independent accommodation, we recommend checking the sites Abritel and Gites. These platforms offer many listings that are often not available on more common websites like Airbnb or Booking.

Camping

There are also plenty of options for the more adventurous. If you enjoy traveling in your camper van or prefer camping outdoors, you can reserve a spot at the following campgrounds, some of which offer many amenities to make your stay more enjoyable:

Travel

There are many ways to reach Brittany, Lancieux, and the manor. Public transportation is limited, with only a few buses, and many of the region’s attractions, while not far away, are not well connected by public transport.

Arriving by train

If you prefer to travel by train, you can also go to Rennes, although the closest high-speed train station is in Saint-Malo. There, you have the option to rent a car.

Arriving by car

If you’re traveling by car, Lancieux is about a 4 to 5-hour drive from Paris. There are two main routes:

  • You can take the A11, a national highway. It’s the fastest route but also the most expensive due to tolls.

  • Alternatively, you can take the A13 to Caen, then the A84. While this route is usually longer, it is cheaper in terms of tolls.

Arriving by plane

There are two main options for flying to Brittany. The closest airport to the wedding destination is Rennes Airport, where you can rent a car and reach Lancieux in about 1 hour and 20 minutes. Alternatively, Nantes Airport provides a more international option and is approximately 2 hours away from Lancieux by car.

What to do in

Brittany, France

If it's your first time visiting Brittany, we’d love to share a few recommendations for places that, in our opinion, are a must. Each one is truly exceptional in its own unique way, and we’re sure you’ll fall in love with the charm and beauty of this region!

Saint Malo

Saint-Malo is a corsair walled city by the sea. Within its walls, you take a journey back in time to an era where stone shapes the streets and facades. Saint-Malo offers the chance to enjoy excellent Breton cuisine, admire its urban landscapes, and shop for all kinds of goods.

Dinard

With its international film festival, charming villas, luxurious hotels, and casino, Dinard is considered one of the most prestigious seaside resorts in all of France. The abundance of beaches and a fascinating promenade by the sea make Dinard a wonderful option for spending a sunny day in Brittany. You can also enjoy delicious mille-feuilles at "Vent de Vanille", but be careful of the seagulls, as they may enjoy them too and won’t miss the opportunity to snatch them right out of your hand!

Cap Fréhel

As part of the "Grande Randonnée 34: le sentier des douaniers", a visit to Cap Fréhel not only offers the opportunity to walk along the sea in a natural national park, but also to admire the impressive lighthouse that still guides boats at night. You can also visit the fortress of Fort La Latte, just a few kilometers away.

Dinan

If you’re interested in discovering a medieval city, we highly recommend visiting Dinan. This small town by the riverside, located in the heart of Brittany, will surprise you with its charm, featuring narrow streets and many artists' ateliers.

Le Mont Saint Michel

This unique medieval cluster, located in the heart of Saint-Michel Bay, stands as a monument to medieval architecture. Not only can you explore the narrow streets leading to the cluster, but you can also enjoy a breathtaking view of the bay—one of the major attractions. If you time your visit right, you'll be able to witness the tides coming in. As it is a very touristic place, we recommend to go either early in the morning or late in the afternoon to avows huge crowds.

Saint-Lunaire

Saint-Lunaire, like many of the small towns along the coastline of Brittany, not only offers amazing views of the sea and rocky beaches, but also allows you to witness the remnants of the Second World War. You may still find some bunkers from the WWII standing there—too expensive to remove, they have become an important part of the region’s historical heritage.

Wedding gifts

The greatest gift you could give us is your presence at our wedding! Sharing this joyous moment with our cherished friends and family means the world to us. Your smiles, laughter, and energy will make our celebration unforgettable and will fill our hearts with memories that we will treasure forever.

However, if you would still like to honor us with a gift, we kindly invite you to contribute to our dream honeymoon. We are planning an incredible adventure to Africa—a once-in-a-lifetime safari to marvel at its breathtaking landscapes, fascinating wildlife, and vibrant cultures. With a bit of luck, we even hope to climb the Mount Kilimanjaro, one of the world’s seven summits.

Thank you so much for being part of our special day and for any support you wish to give. We can’t wait to celebrate together and create memories to last a lifetime!

With love and gratitude,
Sara + Santiago
